CHURCH YOUTH WORKER WANTED, Carlisle
Do you have a passion for Jesus? Do you have what it takes to inspire a new generation of Christians? Are you able to lead and inspire others? If so, we want to hear from you.
At St James our vision is to love Jesus, serve the community and grow disciples. Our work with young people is an important part of this. We are looking for an enthusiastic, faith-filled youth worker to lead and develop our vision of growing young disciples. This is an exciting role as we seek to prioritise our ministry amongst new generations. We already have a small group of young people ready to be nurtured, but need someone to lead, expand and develop new areas of ministry with our Sunday activities and mid-week groups.
This is a full time position but we will consider part-time applications with a minimum of 25 hours per week. Weekend and evening working are essential to this post.
We are seeking to appoint a youth worker who will:
- Nurture our current 11-15s as lifelong disciples of Christ
- Develop the group activities to encourage young people up to and beyond the age of 18
- Pioneer new mission areas and outreach with young people within our community, engaging with the students in Denton Holme.
The successful candidate will have a passion and love both for God, and for young people, and will be committed to journeying alongside them to help them become fully ‘themselves in Christ’. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and able to inspire and lead others. We as a church are committed to nurturing and growing the successful applicant in their leadership gifts and skills.
Salary: £17,000 to £19,000 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) depending on experience
Hours: 37.5 per week (or part-time minimum 25 hours)
Annual Leave: 25 days plus bank holidays (pro rata for part-time)
Closing Date: Friday 26 April 2019
