CAMERON BUTLAND   KATH DODD
is presently the Bishop's Chaplain and the Diocesan Spirituality Adviser, having been in Cumbria since 2004.  Previously he was Chaplain of Rydal Hall, and parish priest in Grasmere and Rydal.  He has an interest in Celtic Spirituality.  Cameron regularly leads Quiet Days and runs courses on a variety of topics including Christian Meditation, Prayer of the Heart and Personality and Prayer.

Since 1992, KATH DODD has shared with her husband in the ministry of Hawkshead Hill Baptist Chapel, a ministry which revolves around the provision of hospitality and a quiet place for visitors. She leads Away Days for Women, and works as a Spiritual Director. She loves walking in the fells, playing the piano, reading (the Bible, poetry and writings of spiritual writers), and wants to share with others how these things can help to deepen our relationship with God.

TERRY WINTERTON   ALI BETTERIDGE
lives and works as the Friend in Residence at Glenthorne Quaker Centre and Guest House in Grasmere. He has been a Quaker since 2000. Terry had a successful career in Civil Engineering and is also a qualified counsellor. He completed a 500 mile pilgrimage walk in 2006, and the Ignatian Spiritual exercises in 2014. He enjoys facilitating groups and workshops which deepen the spiritual life and help kindle the Spirit.

I have been a companion with the Northumbria Community since 2006, attracted by the rule of vulnerability and availability, and committed to living a life of simplicity, silence, prayer and hospitality.  I trained as a spiritual director through the CESG and have continued to enjoy exploring spirituality, completing the Ignation spiritual exercises and joining the team.  I draw my inspiration from Celtic Spirituality, finding God in the mundane and the ordinary, and in the contemplative lives of mystics such as Julian of Norwich, John of the Cross and Teresa of Avila. I am currently training in psychotherapy.

has recently joined the team as coordinator for spiritual direction enquiries, and is excited at this new opening. This role mirrors some of the work she has been engaged in for Cruse Bereavement Care.

Close communion with God and nature is something she nurtures and wishes to share with others.
