Prayer is among the most powerful actions we can all take!
We can pray singly or together, indoors or outdoors, silently or aloud, during the day or night. Let us live our lives soaked in prayer, walking with our God and listening to him. Prayer is interactive and is as much about listening and meditating, as it is about talking.
Let us encourage ourselves, our family and young and older church members to walk daily in prayer for God's whole creation, learning to live more sustainably, to his glory, as we walk the walk of life.
Creative Praying:
Many people have found help in a range of creative ways to pray. Here are just a few:
Prayer walks, prayer walls and prayer rooms, interactive prayer stations, praying through the 'News', prayer labyrinths, (weblink) prayer with music and singing, prayer and fasting, prayer cards, candles, pebbles, seeds, trees, maps, etc.

Prayers:
Beyond The Window Frame - Prayers and Poems, by Marie Birkinshaw A theme collection of poetry and prayers – suitable for church worship, women’s groups, house-groups and for individual reflection.
Below are some examples, but consider writing new ones and adding them to your church ‘collection’.
Live Simply Compassionate and loving God, You created the world for us all to share, a world o f beauty and plenty. Create in us a desire to live simply, so that our lives may reflect your generosity.
Creator God, You gave us responsibility for the earth, a world of riches and delight. Create in us a desire to live sustainably, so that those who follow after us may enjoy the fruits of your creation.
God of peace and justice, You give us the capacity to change, to bring about a world that mirrors your wisdom. Create in us a desire to act in solidarity, so that the pillars of injustice crumble and those now crushed are set free. Amen.

A Gardening Prayer
In the dawn of the day lead us to the garden of life that we might... Prune the excess, Root out injustice, Water the wilting, Nourish the withered, Empty the potting shed of poison, And at the eve of the day, rest, and wonder at God's garden.

Toxic Lifestyles, Toxic Waste
Toxic lifestyles, toxic waste Toxic greed and toxic hate Toxic dams and toxic dreams Toxic water, toxic streams
Toxic power, toxic taste Toxic rush and toxic haste Toxic logging, toxic air Toxic people, we don’t care
Stop! Listen to the voice of God In the wilderness In the emptiness Still the storm of progress Slow the avalanche of waste Listen to the still small voice Of calm.
