Churches Together in Cumbria is made up of 9 member churches serving the whole of Cumbria. Together, with member churches and others, including independent churches and networks we pray and work for the unity to which Jesus calls us. On Advent Sunday in 2011 our Church Leaders made this unity more visible by signing a Declaration of Intent. See the article and photos below for more details.

Church Leaders Sign Ecumenical Declaration of Intent for Cumbria
We are delighted that the Anglican, Methodist and United Reformed Churches in Cumbria signed a Declaration of Intent to deepen their working and witnessing together. The service to celebrate this signing was attended, in Ambleside on Advent Sunday, 27th November 2011, by over 200 people from around Cumbria, and the UK, and included a message of support and encouragement from Dr. Fykse Tveit, General Secretary of the World Council of Churches.
