Cumbria Green Build Festival: 11th - 26th September 2010  Green Build

Welcome to the 5th Cumbria Green Build Festival – an event that raises awareness of the opportunities for all of us to create a more sustainable future in Cumbria through the clever use of our buildings, through prudent energy use and low carbon energy generation. The Festival serves to recognise and celebrate the many businesses, services, organizations and products that are based in Cumbria that enable this essential change to happen. Sprinkle in some inspirational thinking and cutting edge architecture, and we hope you’ll enjoy the event as much as you’ll learn from it!
This year’s festival takes place 11-26 September, but we also have an on-going programme of events through the year – just check the calendar.

Micah Challenge Sunday  - What's Your Promise?: 10th October 2010Promise

Micah Sunday is an occasion for the church in the UK to come together to consider its role in alleviating poverty worldwide.  It gives your church to connect-in to the work being done to alleviate poverty by people just like you around the world. And the chance to reflect on the part you are playing and can play in this great project.  Micah Challenge uses Micah Sunday as a chance to feature the work of its partners. And Micah Sunday is a global event so in marking it you'll be standing together with local churches right around the world.  Micah Challenge will provide simple instructions and creative ideas that make it easy for you and your church to get involved.
People are already making their promises, will you join them? You can watch the film, make your promise, and tell your friends about it or register your church event... Follow the link to www.whatsyourpromise.org.uk and get promising!
